UBC’s International Student Initiative

As part of its commitment to intercultural understanding and global engagement, UBC’s International Student Initiative (ISI) has increased the number of spaces for international undergraduate students, recruiting international undergraduates in 58 countries, as well as recruitment efforts throughout Asia.

Other supports and resources for the international community include Asian collaborations and increased funding and services for undergraduate students from the Asia-Pacific region.

The University of British Columbia is proud to have strong relationships with counselors, parents, and students at many excellent secondary schools in Hong Kong and the rest of Asia. We welcome over 1,000 qualified international students every year to our Vancouver and Okanagan campuses from schools such as King George V School in Hong Kong, Shanghai High School in China, Kodaikanal in India, Jakarta International School in Indonesia, Taylor’s College in Malaysia, Brent International School in the Philippines and United World College in Singapore among many others.

See what UBC students from around the world have to say about UBC’s amazing international community and what it’s like to live in Canada.
