The Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) of the University of British Columbia (UBC) works to fulfill the university’s commitments to enhance the capacity of UBC students, faculty, staff and alumni to engage internationally, and to strengthen UBC’s presence as a globally influential university, as outlined in Shaping UBC's Next Century, UBC’s Strategic Plan.
The APRO office, located in Hong Kong, provides a unique opportunity for UBC to establish a presence in one of the world’s most dynamic regions. The UBC Asia Pacific Regional Office was officially opened on May 3, 2005. Since that time, the scope of operations and the team at APRO have grown, reflecting the wider areas of work undertaken and the broader engagement with partners in the region. The office serves alumni and development activities, supports student recruitment at the undergraduate and graduate levels and caters to the needs of various academic programs, research endeavours and academic relations. The APRO team is active in many locations in Asia and supports visits of academic leaders, faculty and student groups coming to the region. The APRO office is also a place to learn about UBC and what it has to offer to individuals and communities from and throughout Asia. We welcome you to drop by and connect with the UBC family!
